SUB wasn't founded in a boardroom. It was born in the server room of busy New Zealand schools.
There's gotta be a better way!
Our founder Jesse spent years as the go-to IT lead for a local K-12 school, witnessing firsthand the immense pressure on teachers and admin staff.
He experienced the Sunday night dread before the Term 1 rush, the frustration of manually correcting spreadsheet errors at midnight, and the constant stream of "I can't log in" emails that derailed the first day of learning.
Hours of precious time, lost.
He saw hours of precious time, time that should have been spent on teaching and learning, lost to the repetitive, error-prone task of managing thousands of student accounts across multiple systems. He knew there had to be a better way! A way to build a secure, reliable bridge between school data systems and the digital tools educators depend on. With this vision and together with his partner and co-founder Phoebe, SUB was created!
Phoebe and Jesse created SUB from lived experience, shaped by a genuine understanding of the pressures and challenges you face every day. With a background that spans education, as well as the private and public sectors, we know what it takes to make your systems work for you. We're not just another tech vendor; we're a partner who has walked in your shoes.
